Don't Let The Deal Be Lost With One Bite

It doesn’t matter how attractive you are or how well-dressed you are if you don’t have good table manners. Your professional, well-mannered deportment can be over in just one bite at a business dinner. You simply do not present well if you don't showcase good dining skills. Moreover, if you haven't taken the time to learn these basic skills, what else have you overlooked? Let's quickly refresh your recollection of the basics for civilized dining so you make a great impression at your next business meal.

To be marvelously well-mannered, remember to chew with your mouth closed and eat quietly - no lip smacking. If you can hear yourself eating, others are likely to be able to hear you too. While we are not supposed to talk with our mouths full, it is often hard to avoid talking with at least a bit of food in your mouth. Try taking small bites of your food so you are able to talk without looking like a squirrel getting ready for winter.

Please use your napkin from time to time to blot your lips. Do not smear your lips or face. Bring your food to your mouth, not your mouth down to your food. Let's sit up tall and proud and get down to business. When you know how to properly eat, you can concentrate on the business at hand.

Have a marvelous week - Catherine
